Day 1 WARSAW

Private limousine transfer to your centrally-located deluxe hotel.

Evening: In the evening you meet your tour leader and a representative of our office. It will be an occasion to savour a hearty and delicious welcome dinner. Should it be more convenient for you to arrive earlier, we will customise the programme for you. Overnight stay in Warsaw.

Day 2 WARSAW

Morning: Shortly after breakfast we will start our one-day tour of Warsaw. The city tour will feature the highlights of the capital such as the Old Town and the Royal Route. However, in contrast to the other tours, we will keep a closer focus on the historic Warsaw Ghetto area. We will see the Korczak Orphanage and Janusz Korczak Memorial, the memorial stone in Mila Street at the original location of the bunker of the Jewish fighting organization, the Nozyk Synagogue, the Jewish Cemetery, the Memorial to the Heroes of the Ghetto, and the Umschlagplatz, the site of the deportation of the Warsaw Jewish community to Treblinka.

Afternoon: To balance the experience, we offer a complimentary snack in the famous Blikle Café. We will also enjoy a view of the present-day Warsaw from the 30th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science.

Evening: A private Chopin piano concert in the original interiors of the 18th-century Myslewicki Palace in the Royal Lazienki Gardens. We will conclude the day with a dinner in a stylish restaurant which serves traditional Polish cuisine. Overnight stay in Warsaw.

Day 3 LODZ

Morning: Having eaten breakfast, we will board our mini-bus and head for Lodz. In the not too distant past it was the meeting and clashing space of four cultures: Polish, Jewish, German and Russian. The city experienced its heyday in the times of the industrial revolution. It then witnessed the Jewish martyrdom during the WW2 when the Lodz Ghetto was created. Our guided tour will take us down Piotrkowska Street to Poznanski's Palace, Israel Poznanski's Residence, the Silbersteins' textile factory, Kronsztadt's Palace, Arnold Stiller's Residence, Hertz's Residence, the area of the former Lodz Ghetto and the largest Jewish cemetery in Europe.

Afternoon: Free time.

Evening: Dinner will be served in the famous Inheritors' Club restaurant. Our group will be accommodated in one of the best hotels available in Lodz.

Day 4 CZESTOCHOWA, AUSCHWITZ, KRAKOW

Morning: Following breakfast we will continue towards Krakow. On the way, we will make a stopover in Czestochowa and visit the most famous Polish monastery in Jasna Gora, an architectural marvel, extremely important for understanding Polish history.

Afternoon: While travelling to Krakow it is impossible to pass by Auschwitz-Birkenau. The Holocaust Memorial has become a pilgrimage site for people from all over the world who come here to pay homage to the victims of the Nazi genocide. We will have time to see all the three camps - the Auschwitz Museum, the Birkenau extermination camp and Auschwitz III - Monowitz.

Evening: The day's journey ends in Krakow where we will be accommodated in the beautiful Old Town.

Day 5 TUESDAY IN KRAKOW

Tuesday is meant to be a free day during this Jewish Heritage tour. In any case, it is a good idea to have a rest and take time off while in Krakow. Upon request, we can arrange for a visit to the Wawel Castle for all willing to see it. We will have dinner in Villa Decius Restaurant.

Day 6 KRAKOW & PLASZOW AREAS

Morning: This will be a perfect day for seeing Krakow. Our knowledgeable guide will show us not only the beautiful Old Town, the Cloth Hall and the Church of the Virgin Mary, but also the Jewish district of Kazimierz: the Old Synagogue, the Remuh Cemetery and the Remuh Synagogue, the Bociane and Tempel Synagogues and the building of Beit ha-Midrash Kovea Itim l'Tora.

Afternoon: After lunch we will head for Plaszow - an area situated on the opposite bank of the Vistula river.

A concentration camp was located in Plaszow during the WW2 and there are many remnants which remind us of its existence. The Schindler's factory will be of particular interest.

Evening: In the evening we will have dinner in a Jewish restaurant in Krakow and enjoy genuine klezmer music. Overnight stay in Krakow.

Day 7 GALICIAN IMPRESSIONS

Morning: We will have to wake up and have breakfast earlier than usual to be able to visit all the places we have included in the programme. We will travel east to the former Austrian Galicia province. After a short visit to the beautiful historic town of Tarnow we will continue to the picturesque village of Zalipie known across Poland as the ornamented village.

Afternoon: On that day we will also have an opportunity to go to Bobowa, a famous centre of the branch of Hassidism founded by the "Bobower Rebbe", Solomon ben Nathan.

Evening: In the evening we arrive in Sanok to have dinner and relax in the hotel.

Day 8 GALICIAN IMPRESSIONS II

Morning: Shortly after breakfast we will visit an open-air museum in Sanok - the largest museum of folk architecture in Poland. Afterwards we will continue our journey across south-eastern Poland. We will stop in Lancut to see the famous and probably the most beautiful synagogue in Poland and have a short lunch.

Afternoon: Our next destination will be Lezajsk (once a Hassidic center and the seat of the court of Rebbe Lizensker).Afterwards we will head for Zamosc, a town designed as a perfect Renaissance city, where we will see a late-Renaissance synagogue and other monuments.

Evening: We will be accommodated in a comfortable Old Town hotel.

Day 9 LUBLIN, MAJDANEK

Morning: After breakfast, we will have a guided tour of Lublin. Since the 16th century, Lublin was the seat of the Jewish parliament Waad arba aracot. While sightseeing, we will not pass by the building of the Yeshivat Chachmei: a neoclassical Synagogue built by the members of the Chevra Nosim - now a house of prayer, as well as the Old Cemetery with the grave of tzaddik Jacob Horowitz - the Seer of Lublin.

Afternoon: In the afternoon we will visit the former Majdanek Concentration Camp located in the southern city suburbs. Later, free time.

Evening: We have arranged for overnight stay in a centrally located hotel in Lublin.

Day 10 KAZIMIERZ DOLNY, RETURN TO WARSAW

Morning: This is the last day of our tour, but before going back to Warsaw we will at least briefly enjoy the last gem in our programme. Kazimierz Dolny is a marvellous Renaissance town, in the past one of the most important centres of the Jewish culture. We will sojourn in Kazimierz for a couple of hours, have lunch and then travel to Warsaw.

Afternoon: Arrival in Warsaw.
