Morskie Oko Lake

If you are not satisfied with visiting the mountains and experiencing them only from comfortable observation points, then Lake Morskie Oko is one of the top goals for you or any traveller. The poetical name means “the eye of the sea” and it rightly befits this marvellous lake. Morskie Oko is the largest Tatra lake (36 hectares).

To get to Morskie Oko takes a full day – you will travel by limousine or coach in the direction of Slovakia. The ride will take a little more than one hour, then you have to leave this vehicle and walk up a good, steep path for another hour and a half before you eventually reach Morskie Oko. During your free time at the lake, you can stroll around the beautiful valley or undertake another easy two-three hour hike. After four hours spent in this beautiful place it will be time to return to Zakopane the same way you arrived.
