Silesian

Silesia

The Silesian Province is situated in the southern Poland. It is diverse in terms of geography, with picturesque upland in the northern part, an industrial centre around Katowice in the centre and mild mountains covering the south part. Katowice agglomeration, once a powerful industrial area, is known growing into the centre of business and services. Visitors should visit Czestochowa, the most important place for Polish Catholics housing a large monastery, attracting both tourists and pilgrims. Mountain resorts of Szczyrk, Wisla or Ustron draw skiers, snowboarders and hikers. The beautiful castle in Pszczyna is a fascinating place to visit, as well as the castle in Ogrodzieniec, one of the Eagle Nests’ Trail – an array of castles situated atop the rocks of Jura Krakowsko-Czestochowska.
